I quit social media and all texting apps in 2024,

(I share my reflections in the journal if you’d like to know more) with the intention to cultivate inner silence and being more present with you than with my phone. All I can say is that it is working! Simultaneously, with my three brothers and mum in Gran Canaria, Spain, I practice (yes, it is a practice indeed) calling to the landline once or twice a week. With my brother Jose (born in 1969), who has an intellectual disability, was always complex to interact via WhatsApp harmoniously. Now, it is incredibly heartwarming to witness how included he is, just by doing a family phone call to the house where the four of them live. I am eternally grateful to Martin Bauer, the very kind and helpful founder of MyTello app (based in NZ) for making cheap international phone calls from mobile to landline, over wifi, a dream com true.
